What is an In-Person Plus program?

Program-required courses are taught through a combination of in-person and remote delivery. Remote learning may require meeting at a specific time or may not have a specific class time; all weekly interactions and assignments for remote courses are completed through a learning site.

In the Pre-Athletic Training Strength & Conditioning concentration within the B.S. in Exercise Science program, you will learn about rehabilitation and prevention of injuries, therapeutic exercise, and specialized topics essential for a graduate program in athletic training as you prepare to train athletes to improve their performance as a strength and conditioning coach.

This combined focus means you will graduate ready to begin your career in personal training, strength and conditioning of athletes, disease prevention, fitness facility operation, and more, and be ready to apply to graduate school to pursue a Master of Athletic Training (MAT).

This program will also prepare you for national certification examinations including the American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-EP), National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT). Continue on to earn your Master of Athletic Training in an additional two years to be eligible for certification as an Athletic Trainer.
