Betsy moved into the world of sponsored programs administration after many years of writing grants in both the nonprofit and higher ed sectors. Her prior work in higher ed focused on community-engaged scholarship and student volunteerism. She previously worked as the Executive Director of Utah Campus Compact, a statewide network of colleges and universities, and as the Director of the Thayne Center for Service & Learning, which involved thousands of Salt Lake Community College students each year in community-based projects. Betsy has a BA in English and an MA in American Studies from Utah State University, and she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Poland and a VISTA volunteer in rural Washington State.
