A qualified charitable distributions (QCD) from your IRA can be up to $100,000 per person per year and can satisfy part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD), if applicable. Using your RMD to make a QCD lowers your taxable income, providing a greater tax reduction than a charitable deduction.

A gift of appreciated assets—such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate—can offer significant tax advantages. By donating an asset that has increased in value, you may avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value. Common appreciated assets include publicly traded securities, real estate, and closely held stock.
