What is an In-Person Plus program?

Program-required courses are taught through a combination of in-person and remote delivery. Remote learning may require meeting at a specific time or may not have a specific class time; all weekly interactions and assignments for remote courses are completed through a learning site.

Follow your passion in Vermont State University's Fine Arts bachelor's degree program and enhance your skills through foundational courses in drawing, sculpture, and digital media.

You'll learn about historical and contemporary artists and develop your own ideas through your artistic practice. Our supportive community will help prepare you for a fulfilling career in the arts or any creative field.

Additional resources include a photography darkroom, woodshop, welding area, carving benches, outdoor space for sculptural installations, and exclusive studio space for art majors. You’ll also have access to state-of-the-art computer labs for graphic design and digital photography.

  • Pathway to teaching: Share your passion for art with the next generation as a teacher. You can combine your B.A. in Fine Arts with additional coursework in education and graduate ready to apply for state licensure for art education jobs.  
  • Exhibition Opportunities: Reach an audience with your creative vision. As a student, you’ll exhibit your artwork in art galleries around our campuses. You’ll also have ample opportunities to showcase your work, both in group and solo exhibitions, in local and regional galleries stretching throughout Vermont, New England, and beyond.
