What is an In-Person Plus program?

Program-required courses are taught through a combination of in-person and remote delivery. Remote learning may require meeting at a specific time or may not have a specific class time; all weekly interactions and assignments for remote courses are completed through a learning site.

The Vermont State Musical Theater B.A. program, with a focus on real-world experiences, will have you performing in your first semester. Throughout the program, you’ll move from thinking to doing, so you can build skills to excel in performance art theater, television and film, video production, education, and other fields.

Our small classes have a personal touch, with one-on-one attention from faculty whose priority is your success. Professors and other students will encourage you as you follow where your curiosity leads, developing your talents all the way. You’ll realize your dreams aren’t limited to the size of a stage or screen, and you’ll graduate ready to uplift lives through any of the arts careers you pursue.

Student Stories

A group of people singing and dancing on a stage.

“After graduation, I started touring with Disney On Ice presents Frozen as a lighting electrician. I soon began working as the head of the Pyrotechnics Department, and after two years I was promoted to Production Stage Manager for the show. I toured with Disney for just under five years. In 2018, I transitioned to Cirque Du Soleil Volta where I worked as the Assistant Head of Lighting and Video. I’m currently in my final semester at The New School, pursuing a Master of Science in Media Management. In September, I was hired by Hulu as an Account Manager in the Advertising Sales department and plan to pursue a career in Media Sales. The endless support and guidance from my professors and classmates instilled a work ethic and drive to think critically and calmly while approaching any situation. I could not be more grateful for the Theater Arts Department.”
