James Thivierge

Assistant Director of NCAA Compliance

James Thivierge joined the Castleton University athletics staff as the Assistant Director of NCAA Compliance in August 2021 following a two-year stint as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Norwich University.

Prior to Norwich, Thivierge served as the sports information director for eight years at Green Mountain College, while also taking on additional responsibilities and roles as the Associate Athletic Director and Interim Athletic Director.

He served as the primary contact for Green Mountain’s 14 varsity athletic teams and also oversaw all aspects of 200 home game day contests. He twice orchestrated the redesign of the athletic website and also rebranded the college’s athletic logo during his tenure at GMC.

During his time at Green Mountain College, he served as the host SID for the 2018 Northeastern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championship at Eagles Game Field. While serving on the NIAC administrative council as its secretary, Thivierge helped to establish the conference’s inaugural website.

Thivierge earned his Bachelor of Physical Education and Education degrees from Brock University in Saint Catharines, Ontario in 2001. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management from Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Fla. In 2011.
