I received my Bachelor’s in Nursing from Duquesne University in 2005, and my Masters in Nursing Education from New York University in 2015. I currently teach in the PN and ADN programs. I have worked in many different settings but home health nursing is my passion. I like to encourage all nursing students to consider a career in community health.
My philosophy of teaching is grounded in empowering students to become life long learners. I believe in the concept of mutual inquiry, where the teacher serves as a facilitator and collaborator, leading students to make sense out of experience. Helping students find the motivation to learn through the practical application of knowledge is my goal. Above all I believe in matching high standards with fairness and flexibility.
I try to keep a good work-life balance, and outside of my profession, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, gardening, reading and being outside. My biggest passion in life is traveling and experiencing new cultures. I have visited over 20 countries and hope to see more!
