Tina Marshall

Professor

Tina Marshall is a Professor in the Oral Health Sciences Department at Vermont State University providing instruction in Advanced Clinical Oral Health Practice I and II in the Dental Hygiene Program. In the Bachelor’s degree completion program, she teaches a course in Educational Methodology and Leadership. Previously taught courses in the Dental Hygiene program include General Pathology and Pharmacology and Dental Radiology. Tina is an alumnus of the University of Vermont, with an Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene, a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, and a Master’s degree in Education Leadership. After thirteen years of clinical practice in Vermont and Massachusetts, she became involved in dental hygiene education as a clinical instructor for first-year dental hygiene students, and eventually accepted a full-time teaching position after completing her Master’s degree in 2002. Tina has worked in the profession of dental hygiene for forty-one years.

Professionally, Tina has served as President, Continuing Education Chair, and Membership Chair of the Vermont Dental Hygienists’ Association, and was chosen as outstanding dental hygienist of the year in 2018. She is a former faculty advisor for the Student Members of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (SMADHA) at Vermont State University. In recent years, Tina participated in medical/dental service trips to South America through the organization, MEDLIFE, which has a student chapter at VTSU.

Tina resides in Georgia, VT with her husband Jeffrey, and their cats, Chloe, Romeo and Tobie. She enjoys spending time with friends, gardening, traveling, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and yoga.
