March 4 | 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Vermont Biomedical Research Network is funding a visit by Taylor Hudson, who leads the assay development team at the Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI) in Berkley, CA. The IGI performs cutting edge research on gene editing technology that is poised to revolutionize medicine. Taylor is a graduate of Green Mountain College (Poultney, VT). In addition to a discussion of CRISPR/Cas gene editing, she will describe her journey from a small rural college n Vermont to her current position among the leaders in molecular biology research. There are two talks: one on the Castleton campus (March 4, 11:00 – 11:50, Hoff Conference Room) and one on the Johnson (March 6, 3:30 – 4:30, Bentley 207).
