NVU General Core Curriculum Resources

The NVU General Core Curriculum (GCC) is an outcomes-based program. Students are introduced to, and practice, these outcomes by taking courses in eight interdisciplinary categories. You may view the complete program here.

All courses included in the previous general education programs at Johnson and Lyndon must go through the new application review process to be included in the NVU GCC. The application process is currently open, and will remain open for submissions throughout the summer months. The final deadline for submitting “old” courses to the new program is the due date for the final General Education Committee meeting in December 2018. Courses not submitted by that deadline will no longer be considered as part of the NVU GCC.

Courses new to the NVU GCC may be submitted at any time.

In each toolkit, you will find an application with complete instructions and guidelines, as well as the relevant rubrics that will be used to assess learning outcomes for courses in each category. Note that you will indicate in your application which of the applicable learning outcomes your course will address.
