What is Title IX?
Title IX, or TIX, prohibits sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic or dating violence, and stalking. VTSU is committed to providing a work and learning space free from all forms of these actions and behaviors. For more information, see Policy 311A.
What is a Protected Class?
Per Federal and State definitions, a protected class includes race, color, ancestry, ethnicity, national origin, place of birth, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex characteristics, sex stereotypes, creed, religion, crime victim status, pregnancy or related conditions, disability, age, veteran status, marital status, genetic information, positive HIV-related blood test results, physical or mental conditions, or any other status protected by state or Federal law.
