My journey into nursing began in long-term care, where I first worked as a nursing assistant in a nursing home and rehabilitation setting. Those early experiences taught me the importance of compassion, patience, and dignity in caring for others. I later continued working as a nursing assistant at the hospital, gaining experience in several roles, including float pool, which allowed me to work with patients across many different units.
In 2018, I joined the operating room as a Surgical Nursing Technical Assistant, where I developed a deep appreciation for teamwork, precision, and patient advocacy. To further expand my skills, I later stepped away briefly to work at the bedside as an LPN on a medical oncology unit, caring for a wide range of patients including surgical, medical, and comfort care patients. These experiences ultimately led me back to the operating room as a registered nurse.
Throughout my education, I balanced work, school, and family responsibilities, which strengthened my resilience and commitment to this profession. Earning this degree represents years of dedication and growth. I look forward to continuing my career in the operating room or critical care, where careful attention, teamwork, and compassion can make a life-changing difference for patients and their families.
