Designed for either current teachers or career changers who have a liberal arts degree or a science background, our Middle-Level Science Education program will develop your expertise in curriculum and instruction and prepare you for a professional career in teaching.

You’ll be able to combine your expertise in science with an understanding of adolescent development, and you’ll know how to tap into your students’ inner scientist by leveraging their inherent curiosity and desire to investigate the natural world. You’ll be ready to help your students make systematic observations, formulate and test hypotheses, and draw conclusions. You’ll also be able to demonstrate the every-day utility of scientific inquiry and careful, logical reasoning.

Through our Master of Arts in Middle-level Science Education program you will be eligible for initial licensure as a new teacher or to add the Science endorsement to your current license. An interdisciplinary curriculum in education and a mixture of online and practicum experiences in local schools provides comprehensive preparation for career changers.
