The Sawmill Operations Certificate Program will build your practical and business skills to prepare you to work in the high-demand forestry and wood products sector. In courses taught in a combination of online lectures and in-person intensives, you’ll learn how to prepare logs and efficiently dimension and grade lumber with strict adherence to safety protocols. You’ll develop the full skillset needed to run a small- to medium-sized sawmill.

A capstone internship intensive with one of our vetted partners will provide strong on-the-job skill-building and industry connections to hit the ground running with a network of commercial sawmill and wood product operations in Vermont and throughout the Northeast.
