I am a Professor in the Education Department at VTSU. I teach courses in literacy education, theories of education, and qualitative research.
I was granted a full-year Sabbatical for the 2021-2022 academic year to conduct a qualitative study entitled: Taking a Literacy Listening Tour to Explore the Ways Teachers Situate Their Understandings of the Science of Reading (SoR) in Relationship to Balanced, Culturally Responsive, and Socially Just Reading Instruction.
I am originally from the greater Philadelphia area and have been married for 40 years to Brad, who teaches math at Norwich University. I have lived and worked in Vermont higher education since 2007.
