Jessica Visnesky can help with questions about:

Jessica Visnesky has over 15 years’ experience at the intersections of youth justice, human services, and criminal-legal systems. She has been a facilitator of Pennsylvania’s Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ) program within juvenile justice and alternative education spaces. Her work has centered on the needs of multi-system involved youth and their families as she advocates for a transition to relational justice and ways of being. As a researcher, Jessica has focused on implementation challenges within program and system reform measures. Her most recent research examined the perspectives of the restorative justice practice community regarding training, preparedness, and competency priorities for future restorative justice facilitators. Jessica has additional education and training from the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University, VA as well as through the Summer Institute for Restorative Practices in Fairlee, VT.

Jessica provides training and technical assistance on trauma aware restorative justice practices to non-profits and K-12 school districts. Jessica is a member of the Board of Directors for St. Johnsbury’s Community and Restorative Justice Center as well as an Executive Counselor on ACJS’s Restorative and Community Justice Section.
