Dr. Jonathan Kaplan is a Botanist and Plant Pathologist with an MS in Plant Pathology and Entomology and a PhD in Botany and Plant Pathology. He moved to Vermont to be an organic vegetable farmer, which he did for 10 years. “Doc” brings considerable experience in Plants, Agriculture, Foods and Sustainable Food Systems to all his classes. As Cannabis at one time was an agricultural staple and is poised to be so again, Dr. Kaplan is excited to share his knowledge of plants to help students grow any plant successfully. An accomplished pianist and fan of the Grateful Dead, “Doc” has played with a number of Blues, Folk, Jazz and Rock musicians throughout the years in Vermont.
