Joshua Lubitow

Joshua Lubitow is the Paramedicine Program Director at Vermont State University, where he is dedicated to developing thoughtful, adaptable paramedics through evidence-based medicine, critical thinking, and immersive education. He is passionate about bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and the realities of street medicine, using guided discovery and Socratic questioning to help students develop clinical reasoning, confidence, and the ability to navigate complex patient presentations.

With over 15 years of EMS experience, Josh’s career has taken him from high-volume 911 systems and interfacility transport to ground and flight critical care and austere military medicine. He currently serves as a full-time paramedic with Shelburne Rescue and as a Critical Care Flight Paramedic for the United States Army. He is a Vermont Critical Care Paramedic and a board-certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) through the International Board of Specialty Certifications (IBSC). His experience as an EMS leader, educator, and clinician allows him to bring real-world perspective into the classroom.
