Tempel joined the Spartans’ wrestling staff in the fall of 2023.
As a student-athlete at Castleton, Tempel was a four-year team member and three-year captain. He was a three-time All-Region wrestler, placing fifth in 2018 at 141, fourth in 2020 at 141, and qualified for the NCAA National Championships with a third-place finish in 2019 at 149.
An ultimate team guy, Tempel exemplified all aspects of what being a Spartan meant. He led by example and gained Academic All-American status four times throughout his career. He graduated from Castleton in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and then again in 2022 with an MBA in Leading Organizational Change. Tempel has spent as an Assistant Coach for Averill Park’s high school team in New York, and is currently a Lead Agent at NY Insurance Hub.
