Dr. Tom Geisler joined Castleton’s Department of Health and Exercise Sciences in 2011 after thirteen years as a public school teacher and coach. Prior to that, he spent three years as a Field Instructor for the North Carolina Outward Bound School. He also served as the Department Chairperson from 2015 to 2023.
Tom’s goal at Castleton is to help develop future physical education teachers who go on to teach children how to live healthy and active lives.
In addition to teaching at Castleton, Tom enjoys running, cross-country skiing, and hiking, usually accompanied by his two german short-haired pointers.
