38th Annual Minaert Open

The Walter Minaert Memorial Johnson Athletic Golf Tournament honors the memory of former athletic director Walter “Doc” Minaert. Hired in 1947, Minaert was the college’s first teacher of health and physical education and was a driving force behind the expansion of the college’s athletic facilities and the athletic program in general. He served as the college’s athletic director from 1948 until 1976.
