Meet the artists: Thomas Hacker, Glen Hacker, and Emil Gilmutdinov will discuss their current exhibition,Tres Amigos, on display at the VTSU Castleton Bank Gallery.
These three family members explore vastly different niche genres of art, yet the work complements each other, coming together to form a cohesive exhibition. Thomas Hacker captures sensory experiences, internalizing and analyzing them before channeling these into his abstract expressionist paintings. Glen Hacker’s artwork draws heavy inspiration from the natural world, showcasing sea birds, fish, beaches, and open waters, as well as the stunning sunrises and sunsets of the Long Island Sound. Originally from Russia, Emil Gilmutdinov delves deep into his pieces to uncover meaning, striving to express a “kernel of truth” in each work.
