This symbolic ceremony has a long tradition for the Castleton campus Nursing Department.This symbolic ceremony has a long tradition for the Castleton campus Nursing Department. It is a capstone experience for nursing graduates at which awards are given for outstanding performance. Candles are lit and a pledge is recited by the graduates following the presentation of their Nursing pins. The Pinning Ceremony is not meant to replace the Commencement ceremony itself. Nursing students who will be graduating with honors will receive their white tassels at the Pinning Ceremony.
