Healing Culture, Healing Ourselves: With Annie Valentine

This presentation, hosted by seasoned health educator Annie Valentine, focuses on mental health literacy and education. Valentine will explore the definition and spectrum of eating disorders, cultural and societal influences, finding joy in movement, and strategies for supporting peers. Participants will gain insight on what a healthy relationship with one’s body looks like and knowledge and practical tools to better understand and respond to eating disorders among other mental health challenges within our campus community.
This event bridges several academic and professional fields, including health education, psychology, sociology, nutrition, and athletics. It offers valuable insights for students and professionals in health sciences, counseling, social work, and sports studies, promoting collaboration across disciplines to improve mental health outcomes and holistic student support.
