Dear NVU Students, Faculty, and Staff,
I am writing to let you know we have a seventh positive COVID-19 case. This case involves a staff member on the Johnson campus. There is no known connection to our previous staff case. This employee is isolating at home. We have completed our own internal contact tracing and are working with the Vermont Department of Health on next steps. As of March 25, we have conducted 6,061 tests.
We need each of you to stay more vigilant than ever. We are midway through the semester and we cannot let up. Though vaccinations are rolling out, Vermont experienced a high number of positive cases this week.
Students and employees who live, teach, work, or learn on campus should test weekly throughout the semester. The next testing will be Monday, March 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.—in the Multi-Gym at Johnson and in the Moore Community Room (ASAC 100) at Lyndon. Please send questions related to testing to Dean of Students Jonathan Davis.
As COVID-19 variants are seen with more frequency in our region, your careful attention to health and safety protocols is more important than ever.
