April 2 Update on the COVID-19 Coronavirus

April 2, 2020

President Moulton sent a Week-One Check In to students.

Remote delivery classes started this week and the world kept spinning! Our worries about the internet crashing didn’t come to fruition and for that I’m eternally grateful. I hope you are all settling into new routines comfortably.

Commencement

I have heard from a few seniors with concerns about missing Commencement. Know that we have postponed and not cancelled the ceremony. Importantly, postponing the ceremony does not impact the conferral of degrees. Students who meet their program outcomes will receive their degrees.

The Commencement Committee created an email so you can send them any ideas about alternatives: commencement@vtc.edu. Watch for a survey and provide your input!

Zooming

Zoom doesn’t HAVE to be boring when you can customize your background like you’re still here! Check out the Vermont Tech backgrounds the marketing team put on our website.

#VTCFROMHERE

Time for a “roll call”! Let us know where you are studying from these days by downloading the #VTCfromhere ‘campus sign’ and fill in your hometown’s name.

  1. Take a picture
  2. Post to social
  3. Tag the college (@vttech)
  4. Use the hashtag #VTCfromhere

Now you all can check in with each other from wherever you are. We miss you and want to see your smiling faces!

Stay in touch, stay safe, and stay hard at work at your education. We are rooting for you all!
