Dr. Sherry Kollmann is a seasoned higher education and business leader with more than 25 years of combined experience advancing innovation, access, and student success. She currently serves as Chancellor of New Mexico State University Global Campus, where she provides strategic leadership for online and extended education initiatives that expand access to high‑quality learning opportunities while strengthening institutional sustainability.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kollmann has held senior leadership roles across multiple institutions, including Senior Associate Dean of Business Programs at Southern New Hampshire University and Vice President of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at New England College. In these roles, she led large‑scale academic operations, enrollment growth initiatives, and programmatic innovation across both online and campus‑based environments.
Prior to transitioning to higher education administration, Dr. Kollmann worked at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, where she led the development and implementation of statewide educational programs delivered in both online and face‑to‑face formats. This experience grounded her commitment to education as a public good and as a driver of workforce and community well‑being.
At New Mexico State University, Dr. Kollmann has secured $17 million in state appropriations, expanded online enrollment to more than 3,500 students, and generated more than $30 million in tuition revenue—helping stabilize and strengthen the overall NMSU system budget. In recognition of her leadership and statewide impact, the New Mexico Legislature selected Dr. Kollmann to lead the New Mexico Online Hub initiative, bringing together four‑year institutions across the state to drive the growth of accessible, coordinated higher education in New Mexico and beyond. This initiative secured an additional $12 million in funding to support cross‑institutional collaboration and expanded access.
Dr. Kollmann’s leadership is characterized by a strong commitment to equity, innovation, and measurable outcomes. She is widely recognized for applying learning science, instructional research, and data‑informed strategies to design, implement, and manage programs that deliver clear value to students, institutions, and communities.
She believes deeply that every individual deserves access to a high‑quality education, regardless of geographic location or life circumstance. Her work reflects a sustained focus on expanding opportunity, strengthening partnerships, and aligning education with workforce and societal needs.
Dr. Kollmann earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bethel University, a Master of Arts from Concordia University, and both a Master of Education and PhD from the University of Oklahoma, where her doctoral work focused on Instructional Psychology and Technology.
