NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (WCAX) – Ice climbing in New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Valley brings in millions of dollars to the local economy every year. That’s according to new research out of Vermont State University.
Researchers say the industry generates more than $6 million to the regional economy, supporting 36 jobs and adding more than $4 million in Gross Domestic Product.
They say it’s proof that outdoor recreation is crucial to our rural economies, bringing in tourism, jobs and a sense of identity.
