Returning to school as an adult learner has been deeply personal for me. My inspiration began when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. During one of the hardest seasons of our lives, I witnessed firsthand how extraordinary nurses can be. Some of the nurses who cared for her showed compassion, strength, and advocacy that left a lasting impact on me. They didn’t just treat her illness, they cared for her as a whole person. That experience shaped the nurse I strive to become.

Today, I work full-time as a school nurse (LPN) while raising my two boys and pursuing my RN. Balancing these roles has required resilience and sacrifice, but I am proud of the example I am setting for my children.

Earning my degree represents growth, perseverance, and honoring my mom’s journey. It means becoming the kind of nurse who makes a difference when families need it most.
