My story begins in New York City, where I lived for 25 years before moving to Vermont in 2022. That move changed everything for me. It gave me the space to reflect on my future and inspired me to continue my education. I had graduated from City Tech with an associate degree in science, but at the time I didn’t really know what direction to take. I worked as an administrative assistant in different places, gaining experience but still feeling like something was missing.
Working in Vermont and meeting new people sparked a desire to better myself and pursue higher education. In July 2025, I took a leap of faith and scheduled a meeting with a VTSU advisor. That conversation lit a fire in me and reminded me that I’m capable of more than I once believed. If I could offer advice to anyone on a similar path, it would be this: it is never too late to learn, grow, or reinvent yourself. When you allow yourself to dream and take action, possibilities open up in ways you never expected.
