Getting my degree means accomplishing something that I never thought I would. It shows that anything is possible if you put your mind and heart into it. Juggling school, work, and being a single mom has not been easy, but every successful semester brings me so much fulfillment and happiness. My advice would be to do what makes you happy. For me; that is obtaining my degree and being a strong role model for my daughter. Ask yourself what makes you happy, figure out what you need to make it happen, and then put the work in.

It may have taken me almost twenty years, but at the age of 38, I walked across that stage to obtain my associates degree, and in a few more years I’ll be walking that stage again. As for the future, I plan to continue working in children’s mental health, and to keep doing what makes me happy, in both education and life.
