I’ve wanted to be a nurse since I was 3 years old and started looking at my father’s EMT books. I took care of my 3 grandparents up until they passed and became an LNA at the age of 19. I got married and had my 5 wonderful children. When my twins were 2 years old, I decided that I wanted to go back to college. I obtained my PN license and went straight back into school in the fall to get my ADN.
I wanted to prove to my children that even though I decided to get married and have them, that wasn’t going to stop me from pursuing my dreams. You can have a family and still obtain your college degree. You’re never too old to get a college degree.
