Linda Bassey

I am deeply grateful to my instructors, advisers, professors, classmates, and the entire CCV/VTSU community for their guidance and support. I also thank the state of Vermont and the United States for giving me this life‑changing opportunity. My journey began as a Licensed Nursing Assistant, where my interest in nursing grew. Balancing 12‑hour night shifts, tuition, bills, and studying was extremely difficult, but I refused to stop. Working with vulnerable individuals inspired me to understand human behavior and the challenges people face.

After thoughtful advice, I pursued Human Services and earned an associate degree. Although I briefly paused my studies in 2023, I encouraged myself to continue. Housing and work limitations made full‑time nursing impossible, leading me toward psychology with hopes of a master’s degree. Despite many challenges, I stayed focused, humble, and determined. I am truly honored.
