Lorraine Kennedy

I am earning a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus on education, psychology, and people and culture. This represents a deeply meaningful milestone in both my personal and professional journey. From the beginning, I was inspired by a passion for helping others grow and succeed, which led me to pursue a path in education. One of my proudest accomplishments has been completing the Teacher Education Program with a Portfolio and earning my Vermont Teaching license. This achievement affirmed my commitment to the field. I was also honored with a certificate recognizing my hard work last semester, a reminder that dedication and perseverance truly pay off.

Balancing full-time teaching, being a cosmetologist working in a salon part-time, all while being a devoted mom and wife, and taking classes has been one of my greatest challenges, but it has also strengthened my time management skills and resilience. These experiences have shaped me into a more compassionate educator and role model. Earning this degree is not only about personal success; it is about setting an example for my son and showing my students the value of determination and continuing education.

As I look ahead, I plan to continue working as a teacher while embracing my identity as a lifelong learner. In the future, I hope to pursue nursing to expand my ability to care for and support others. This degree opens new opportunities and reflects my belief that growth never truly ends.
