I began my college journey over 14 years ago. I was a single mother and juggling, work, school and being a mother. It was one of the toughest things I had done but for one in my life I felt like I was putting my best self forward and working towards a better life for me and my son. Life got complicated and my college journey got put on the back burner. I decided now in my 40s with two children I was going to finish what I started. I want to show my children that we can do hard things and that if they put in the effort they can do anything. I am working towards my bachelor’s degree in psychology because I have a strong desire to help others. This has been one of the toughest roads in my journey, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.
