Returning to college at 35, while raising a child, has been both challenging and deeply rewarding. I was inspired to continue my education to build a better future for my family and to prove, to myself and my child, that it’s never too late to grow and pursue your goals. Earning my associate degree stands as one of my proudest accomplishments, representing persistence, sacrifice, and the determination to keep going even when the path felt overwhelming.
My time as a student and working at the Community College of Vermont has shaped who I am today. As I work toward my bachelor’s degree at VTSU, I plan to continue supporting students at CCV and serving people throughout our surrounding communities. Education has given me confidence, purpose, and a stronger connection to the work that I do.
This journey has impacted my family by showing them the value of resilience and lifelong learning. To others on a similar path, especially parents and adult learners, I would say: take the first step. Your goals are worth it.
