Scott Frank

I dropped out of high school in ’96 to escape a thoroughly toxic environment, then had my own life journey. At 25, I got my diploma and went back to school for an Associates that I did not realize becoming a single parent and survivor of domestic abuse would stretch out into my 30s. Now 46, I’ve come back for my B.Social Work at Castleton and next it will be on to grad school to pursue an M.SW after, so I can help our community become a more inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

I cringe at having to use such generic platitudes, but the most true and sound advice I can give to others on a similar path is to just keep swimming forward, and never cave to idea that it is too late. If you’re still breathing, it isn’t too late. And don’t be afraid to lean on a good advisor or faculty member you trust or connect with. I’m truly fortunate to have Professor Miles.
