The concentration in Teaching PreK-12 Physical Education in Vermont State’s B.S. in Physical Education program prepares you to become a physical education teacher for grades pre- K-12.

We’ll show you how to inspire a lifelong love of physical activity and bring out the best in your students through a program aligned with the teacher education guidelines of the Society of Health and Physical Educators of America and the Vermont Agency of Education.

You'll also be able to improve your own skill competency in our athletic facilities or through a variety of individual and team sports, winter activities, aquatics, racquet sports, wellness activities, and much more. You can also double-major in Health Education — or choose to minor in Adventure Education, Coaching, or School Health.

Why Study Teaching PreK-12 Physical Education at Vermont State

  • Hands-On Day-One: In the Teaching PreK-12 Physical Education Concentration, you will practice what you learn from the start, working with students in local schools across age groups. You’ll accrue at least 80 hours of field experience even before your student teaching begins!
