In the Vermont State University Art History Concentration, you will complement your creation of art with a deep understanding about the cultural advances of art, architecture, and the historical origins of art.
This concentration opens the door for you to explore the artistic themes and techniques of different historical periods and understand how artistic movements responded to one another over time. You will also develop analytical skills that further your understanding of the history of art and architecture.

The proximity of Vermont State University campuses to major art centers, such as Boston, Montreal, and New York City makes it easy to gain firsthand knowledge of original, historic, and contemporary works of art. You can also study abroad in world centers of art such as Italy, Ireland, Holland, England, Greece, Nepal, Tibet, India, and China.
