Our campus-based news channel, News7 at our Lyndon campus, is one of only 30 live, student-run channels in the country. You’ll also have many opportunities to report and produce pieces as part of your coursework with our partnerships with VTDigger, Burlington-based network affiliates, and other Vermont media outlets. On our Castleton campus, our campus-based newspaper, the Castleton Spartan, has won five national College Media Association awards in the Best Newspaper category since 2017.

- Multimedia Journalism Internship Options: Multimedia students have interned at daily and weekly newspapers, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rutland Herald, and national publications, including Salon.com.
- Top Job Placement: We have more than 30 alumni at ESPN alone! Alumni of Vermont State’s journalism program work in nearly every station in New England and New York, as well as across the country. As a student, you’ll benefit from an extensive professional network of graduates who are happy to help connect and advise you. Multimedia Journalism students routinely get their start at regional newspapers like The Rutland Herald, The Post-Star of Glens Falls, NY, and The Keene Sentinel in New Hampshire, and many graduates have gone on to careers at national publications including The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and The Nation.
