Rolling Admission and Program Deadlines
Vermont State University has rolling admission for most programs. Program specific priority deadlines include:
- December 1 for Practical Nursing Certificate C.T., Dental Hygiene B.S., and Radiologic Science A.S.
- March 15 for Nursing A.S.
- June 1 encouraged for the Early College and the Vermont Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).
Files completed after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling admissions basis dependent on space availability.
Whether you are applying on a deadline or under rolling admission, we encourage students to apply early to provide the best opportunity for informed decision making and financial aid. We encourage careful attention to aid, scholarship, and enrollment deadlines.

After you apply, we will email you a personal link to your Application Status Page where you will be able to track your application. Please ensure we always have your most up-to-date email address on file.
Application Review
Our application review begins in September for spring semester enrollment (semester beginning in January) and November for fall semester enrollment (semester beginning in the end of August). All decisions are notified by email on a rolling basis, and admissions letters are posted to your Application Status Page. When your application and all required materials are submitted, we will do our best to send you notification of our decision within 10 business days.
Decisions for Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Science, and Practical Nursing are expected to be released in early February for applicants who completed their application by the priority deadline. Decisions for A.S. in Nursing will be released in early April for applicants who completed their application by the priority deadline.
