The Federal Direct PLUS Loan for undergraduate students is a low-interest loan (the current interest rate is fixed at 7.9%) designed as a long-term financing option to help you pay for education beyond high school. The Direct Parent PLUS Loan is available to creditworthy parents or stepparents to help pay for their dependent student’s education.
The Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan is a low-interest loan (the current interest rate is fixed at 7.9%) for creditworthy graduate students enrolled at least half time. Graduate students apply for the maximum amount of Federal Stafford Loans first.

Private education loans are consumer loans made to individuals to help pay for college. You should always use any federal loan eligibility available to you before borrowing a private education loan. We recommend that you apply early and plan ahead – the process will likely take a minimum of 30 days to complete and have the funds disbursed to the school.

Sponsorship Billing is the process whereby Vermont State University bills an outside organization (sponsor) for a student’s tuition and/or fees. Sponsorship Billing is unique in that the sponsor requires an invoice from the University before remitting payment.
International students are encouraged to make payments to VTSU through Flywire, which allows payments in any currency, with payment tracking and multilingual customer support.
