Available Trainings from the Center

• Trauma Responsive Approach: This training focuses on how trauma might manifest itself in your clients and how you can best serve them with an understanding of how their behavior might be influenced by past trauma.
• Vicarious Trauma and Self-Care: This training explores ways the trauma you see in clients you serve may impact you and your own health and well-being. We also teach ways that you can reduce the impact of vicarious trauma through methods of self-care.
• Compassion Fatigue: This training will help participants to identify if they suffer from compassion fatigue and ways to address it.
• How to support a survivor (relationship or sexual violence): The workshop is designed to educate about relationship and sexual violence to make participants more aware of the dynamics so they can best support survivors.
• Structural Inequality and Trauma: Explores the historic and current roots of inequality and how trauma is generated from this inequality. This trauma is inter-generational and to prevent it, we must dismantle it at the structural level, while still acknowledging that it impacts individuals.
• Decolonization: Explores how to remove the lens of colonialism from treatments of trauma.
• Anti-Racism: Explores privilege, oppression, and intersectionality to cultivate anti-racism.
• Trauma Responsive Sports-Based Youth Development: This workshop exposes participants to the basics of sports-based youth development through a trauma responsive lens. Attendees learn how this type of youth programming is built on the principles of trauma awareness, safety and trustworthiness, connection, opportunity for choice and collaboration, and strengths-based facilitation.
