Tutoring

Vermont State’s peer and professional tutors offer individual support to help you tackle immediate academic challenges in your classes, and help you develop the tools you need to succeed long-term.

How to Access Support

  • Connect with Drop-in Tutors for help as needed, online or on campus.
  • Access free tutoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through Tutor.com from any Canvas course.
  • After using Tutor.com twice for a course or seeing if drop-in tutoring meets your needs, you can schedule regular, ongoing sessions with a Vermont State tutor using our Tutor Request form.

Tutor Requests and Drop-In Schedule

Please follow these steps before requesting a tutor:

  • Attend class for the first full week. Sometimes just one more class makes the material clearer.
  • Talk with your professor. Professors are available during regular office hours to answer your questions and provide guidance.
  • Meet with one of our academic coordinators to discuss your specific academic need.
  • Try Tutor.com or our drop-in times at least twice for the course.

The drop-in tutor schedule and tutor request form are available to students through the Academic Support Sharepoint page.

VSC Portal credentials are required to access the Sharepoint page.
