#TRIOWorks

At Vermont State University, we are proud to host the highest number of U.S. Department of Education TRIO grants in the entire state. Funded by the US Department of Education, TRIO Student Support Services (TRIO SSS) make sure all motivated students, regardless of their income or background, can succeed in college.

Additional Funding

Many Vermont State University students qualify for extra support through TRIO SSS such as supplemental grant aid, leadership development, and graduate school trips. You may be eligible for TRIO SSS if you are any of the following:

  • A first-generation college student. (Neither of your parents has a four-year college degree.)
  • Within certain income guidelines.
  • A student with a documented disability.
