This 36-credit Educational Leadership master’s degree from Vermont State combines online courses and a two-year in-person fieldwork project. Through this program, you will put what you’re learning to work right away to effect positive change and increase inclusivity in your school while you learn.

Preparation for the Principalship Endorsement is part of the Educational Leadership degree program. Participants with a previous master’s degree may complete the Principalship Endorsement courses in 22 credits.

What is an In-Person Plus program?

In the School Counseling Concentration in Vermont State’s M.A. in Counseling, you will build on the foundational counseling courses to learn how to become a school counselor. The program is designed for working adults and we encourage a diverse group of students to apply, including people currently working in the field. The program prepares professional school counselors to work in K-12 schools and other educational settings, to promote individual and family wellness. Our curriculum is aligned with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) and the Vermont School Counselor Association (VTSCA).

In the M.A. in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health Concentration at Vermont State, you will build on your foundational counseling courses to learn how to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in Vermont. You will learn to apply your growing knowledge base specifically to mental healthcare settings through internship experiences and learn to help build healthy communities for diverse populations. The Vermont State master’s program in Special Education provides you with multiple pathways to becoming a special education teacher. The program offers two options for licensed teachers to add the endorsement — one online and one that includes some online courses and some in-person courses, and a third option for initial licensure.
