What is an In-Person Plus program?

Follow your passion and prepare for your creative career in Vermont State’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program. You’ll develop your foundation in drawing, sculpture, digital media and art history, with electives in painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, and experimental arts technology. You’ll learn and work alongside Fine Arts, B.A. students as you develop your own creative approach to your art. Formal acceptance into the B.F.A. program is accomplished through a review of your artistic portfolio, submitted during your third semester at VTSU. B.F.A. students pursue significantly more credits in Fine Arts courses than B.A. students, more thoroughly preparing them for graduate study in a Master of Fine Arts program.

Vermont State’s innovative B.S. degree in Restorative Justice is the first undergraduate degree of its kind in the nation. Restorative practices are increasingly being used in schools and communities to build community and foster authentic dialogue. Restorative processes are also used to resolve conflicts, interrupt cycles of violence, provide supportive forms of accountability, and create pathways toward healing for individuals and communities following incidences of harm.

In this Restorative Justice bachelor’s program, you’ll gain foundational knowledge and hands-on experience putting practices into action to prepare for restorative justice careers in restorative facilitation, victim services, youth advocacy, re-entry work, school counseling, and teaching.

Build your technical know-how and grow your leadership skills to prepare for a career in a growing range of industries in Vermont State’s Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Mechanical engineers are the bridge between innovation and implementation, blending technical expertise with strategic leadership to transform ideas into tangible products. As both doers and managers, mechanical engineers collaborate seamlessly with researchers, designers, and skilled craftspeople to create the high-tech solutions that drive our world forward.

Our program provides a strong foundation in mechanical engineering during your first two years. During year three and four, students may focus their studies through a concentration in Manufacturing or Renewable Energy. Students who do not choose one of these two concentrations will continue to develop their knowledge in the broader field. 

Students who complete an A.E. in Mechanical Engineering Technology may transfer into VTSU’s B.S. in Mechanical Engineering program to earn this degree in an additional two years.

With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology, you will be able to demonstrate:

What is an Online program?

Online programs: Teaching and learning takes place over the internet, allowing students to access course materials, interact with instructors and peers, and complete assignments remotely. Some programs may require in-person meetings, residency, or fieldwork.

Designed for current teachers and career changers with a liberal arts degree or a formal studio arts background, the Art Education degree will develop your expertise in curriculum and instruction and prepare you to lead a school’s art program. The curriculum will enable you to guide students through all developmental phases. Coupled with your expertise in art, the knowledge you’ll gain in our master’s degree program will make you an experienced professional capable of helping students explore their artistic expression for both personal and social pursuits.

Through our Master of Arts in Art Education program, you will be eligible for initial licensure as a new teacher or to add the art endorsement to your current license. Our Electrical Engineering Technology degree prepares you to find work in any number of challenging positions. The degree will give you a foundation in the principles of electrical and electronic design and development, combined with hands-on laboratory work. As engineering technicians, you are qualified to work in such varied activities as maintenance, manufacturing, production, and installation of complex electrical, electronic, or electromechanical products. You may also assist in research and development. You can be a key player in incorporating sustainable technologies that will transform the coming decades. Testing, quality control, management, and customer service are among the additional job opportunities available. You will be able to find work in the power industry, biotech, electronic manufacturing, robotics, aerospace, and many other industries.

As a student who pursues a two-year associate degree in electrical engineering technology, you will have the option to continue your education to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, or Business Administration.
